Barco Error Code - 5830: “ti-link-decryptor - no communication” (Error)
This problem is caused by the TI Link Decryptor, better known as the Enigma board. When using a projector with a "traditional" type of server (as opposed to an IMB/IMS type server), the signal coming from the external server is encrypted and decrypted by the "link decryptor" (enigma) within the projector. The security certificate within the link decryptor is maintained by a battery that is recharged in normal use. If the projector is left powered down for a long period of time the battery loses its charge and the certificate is lost. This also can happen as the board ages. After 5+ years of operation the battery may stop taking a charge. We've seen this happen as early as 3 years. In any case the certificate is lost and the link decryptor must be replaced.
