Maintenance Matters
Critical Reminder: It’s Time to Check IMB Batteries
One of the most common calls to GDC Technical Services is how and/or when to replace batteries in GDC servers. This is a friendly reminder it’s time to check the server IMB batteries as they maintain the memory required for important security functions. By checking your batteries now, you will not need to ship your server to GDC for required service to replace a drained battery, saving time and money.
GDC recommends replacing batteries for any operational GDC servers nearing the end of its battery lifetime. To help determine if you are nearing the batteries lifetime, SMS build of 411 or later for the SX-3000 and SX- 2000AR/TR will pop-up a low battery warning in the software at boot. For your convenience, we have attached the GDC Technical Bulletins for more information and the recommended battery replacement procedure.
