Serie 2 projector will now be provided with Barco ICP-D instead of TI ICP

General

Situation

Barco supplies series 2 projectors with "Integrated Cinema Processor" (ICP) or "Integrated Cinema Media Processor" (ICMP/ICMP-X).

End of January (January 29th 2021), Barco definitively stop to provide Series 2 projectors with TI ICP. It will be replaced by Barco ICP-D (Integrated Cinema Processor - Direct).

Information about the impacts will be present in documentation support (My.barco, various Manuals…), and we offer here an high-level overview concerning this change and some Basic information about Barco ICP-D.

Overview and description

How to recognize the different Integrated Cinema Processors

Integrated Cinema Processor are located in the card cage. TI ICP:

How installing / replacing a Barco ICP-D

Procedures for replacing TI ICP with an ICP-D, or to install from scratch a new ICP-D, are described in ICP_D installation Manual (R5912083).

Software requirement

The version of the software packages indicated in the following table are the minimum required version. Always refer to the product release notes to be sure to install the correct version.

Projector software package	Depending on the projector type: version 2.10.x or higher for B and C series version 2.10.x or higher for BLP and CLP series version 1.16.x or higher for S and E series
ICP-D software	1.2.0.3
ICMP clone package (*)	2.8.1
Barco Communicator software	5.15 or higher

(*) ICMP clone package are require during installation to replace DVI macros/input files by HDMI ones. Ensure to use the appropriate clone package and corresponding projector software package.

On Series 2 projectors, no license is needed in order to use ICP-D together with an third party IMB. Supported IMBs from ICP-D software version 1.2.0.5 onwards:

6. Dolby ShowVault/IMB: From software version 2.8.25 onward
   
7. Dolby IMS3000: From software version 3.3.26 onward
   
8. Dolby IMS2000: From software version 2.8.25 onward
   
9. GDC SX4000: From software version 10.00 (build 103) onward
   
10. GDC SR1000: From software version 17.20 (build 201) onward
    
11. QSC CMS-5000: From software version 1.1.01818+ onward
    
12. Qube Xi: From software version 3.0.1.40 onward
    

ICP-D limitations

9. CineCanvas subtitling support is not available on ICP-D. The subtitle needs then to be rendered by Third Party IMB.
   
10. When ICP-D is installed on series 2 projector, DVI inputs located on cinema controller are no longer functional.
    
11. The ICP-D is not compatible with the Barco HD-SDI + Enigma input board.
